Do you need a special diet?

I've just finished sit-ups test and I did 99 sit-ups. I think it's a lot for me because last time I trained was when I was 18 years old. I really want to reach the 300 sit-ups level and I wonder:

Do you have to be on a special diet to train?

Please share any pieces of advice with me :)
